Reverse Lumpy Juvederm? Yes, It’s Possible!

Juvederm/ Restylane is a HA/ hyaluronic acid filler which is used to fill in defects. Typically, it’s injected into the nasolabial fold area, or the “parentheses” lines of the face, just around the mouth.

One of the nice things about HA is that it’s a natural substance, found in the joints of the human body. There is no pre-injection allergy testing for this, since technically every human has a joint and presumably has some HA already in there. One of the complications of HA fillers is lumpiness. If your injector doesn’t make sure that the injection goes smoothly, a small lump can occur.

Technically, there are a couple of things you can do. The last resort would be to dissolve it. Yes, you don’t have to wait 6-12 months for it to go away, you can actually inject the lumpy area with a different injectable medicine that dissolves the offensive area. Wait, your injector doesn’t know what it is? Well, there’s always and internet search or a NIH library article search…..
