Free Plastic Surgery 1 – Become a Patient!

To get free plastic surgery, become a volunteer and become a patient.

Generally, you will sign up at a local University Hospital, or become a patient for a video conference or demonstration of a plastic surgery tehcnique or machine.  This varies wildly, so you have to make certain that

1.  It’s the procedure you want.

2.  The Plastic Surgeon is someone you know and trust.

3.  Potentially several to many other doctors will see your operation, thus eliminating privacy.

4.  If the procedure is videotaped, then it will probably live on the internet forever.

5.  You may have to schedule your procedure at a time that’s convenient for the Plastic Surgery, not for you.

6.  You may have to travel out of state for follow-up care.

7.  You may not be able to do an in-depth, in-person pre-surgical consultation with the Plastic Surgeon that is doing the procedure.

How do you find these conferences?  I would suggest going to the websites of the ASAPS/ American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery/ surgery.org, or the ASPS/ American Society of Plastic Surgeons/ plasticsurgery.org.    You can also contact your local University Hospital, and ask for the Department of Plastic Surgery.  Finally, you can contact medical device manufacturers (laser, liposuction machine, etc.),  and ask if you can be a demonstration patients. You may still have to pay for OR/ operating room and anesthesia fees, but hopefully you won’t.  Good luck!
